A monthly women’s gathering to support and promote resilience

Resilience: the capacity to withstand or to recover quickly from difficulties

For many women, their resilience is in trouble. They may be mothers, caregivers, community organizers, immigrants, LGBTQIA+, etc. and they are carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders while still facing the ever-growing demands society puts on them (cue Barbie movie iconic monologue).

In ancient and indigenous societies, we withstood the pressures of life with support and community. Our modern day system is designed to overwhelm us, without support, friendship, or community with whom to share the burden.

I created this event to find some of what I was missing during crucial times in my life as a mother, caregiver, and widow. If you feel that the waves life keeps throwing your way are making it harder and harder to bounce back, join us as we hold space, feed each other, laugh, and find community.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

This is a shared meal: Sharing food together is one of the cornerstones of community. Food brings people together, creates bonds, breeds inclusion, and nourishes the soul. To the extent that you’re financially able, we ask that you bring food to share with the group (we max at 15). Now this isn’t just any food. We are sharing from the heart and aiming to nourish each other. So we ask that you bring an item of food that has meaning to you, that you’re proud to share lovingly, and will fill your soul to watch others enjoy. Plates, cutlery, and paper products will be provided along with water and tea. This is an alcohol-free event.

YogaSoul Nashville parking:  Yogasoul Bhakti Center has been kind enough to let us host there. We will be located on the bottom floor. Limited parking is available in front of the building itself but there are plenty of spots for street parking along Humphrey street and Martin street. There are also pay-to-park lots within walking distance to the building.

If you have any questions about what to bring or anything else, please reach out to Carolina (carolina@carolinareese.com).
